“My favourite part of the day would have to be the 'getting ready' portion. I love to capture the excitment and all of the details that have gone into planning that one special day. I always feel so honoured to be able to capture such special moments in someone's life.”
What is your photography style?
I like to think that my style is modern, organic and elegant. While there is always some posing, I always work to capture every moment as naturally as possible, capturing real and candid moments is my ultimate passion!
Did you go to school for photography?
I did, I went to Humber College and completed my Creative Photography Diploma with Honours.
How long have you been in the photography industry for?
I graduated from my program in 2010 and jumped right in. I started out as a photographer's assistant and worked primarily within the commercial industry for about 2 years, after which I started taking on my own work photographing portraits, products, and corporate events. It wasn't until 2014 that I started working as a second wedding photographer, and that's when I truly discovered my love for special event photography.
What is your favourite thing about photographing a wedding?
My favourite part of the day would have to be the 'getting ready' portion. I love to capture the excitment and all of the details that have gone into planning that one special day. I always feel so honoured to be able to capture such special moments in someone's life. Of course, I love when the Bride and Groom see each other for the first time, my heart always races waiting to see their reactions!
Do you photograph anything else apart from weddings?
Yes of course! Along with weddings, I shoot maternity sessions, engagements, bridal showers, families, parties, baptisms etc., and corporate events. I also continue to work within the commercial industry shooting products, portraits and behind the scenes.
What are your biggest pieces of advice regarding wedding photography?
I would have to say that one of my most important suggestions would be to make a list of all your family photo combinations before the wedding day. Believe it or not, the formal family photo session tends to be one of the most stressful and time consuming portions of the day. It's easiest to designate someone on the day-of who can have the list and help to organize family members, it can be a challenge wrangling everyone even if you've told them when and where to be for the photos!
I would also recommend thinking about travel time and how many locations you have throughout the day. Of course this isn't always possible but if you can, limit the amount of traveling you are doing - this will maximize what you get out of photography sessions.
Is travel time included in your packages?
Travel time throughout the day is including when booking. For example, if you select a 10 hour package from 11am-9pm any travel time needed from location to location throughout the day will be counted as part of the 10 hours.
