PHOTOGRAPHY FOR EVENTS: A WILDFLOWER THEMED BABY SHOWER

Amanda’s “Wildflower” shower was a beautiful example of photography for events done in a warm, intimate setting. Held at Funghetto Trattoria in February 2023, the celebration brought together Amanda’s closest family and friends to welcome her baby girl, Charlotte. The room was filled with laughter, love, and anticipation, creating the kind of atmosphere that makes documenting these moments so meaningful.

This event holds a special place in my heart for so many reasons. A few years earlier, I had the honour of photographing Amanda’s bridal shower, as well as her sister’s engagement session. Being invited back to capture another milestone truly felt like coming full circle. Adding to the emotion of the day, I was eight months pregnant with my own baby girl, and this became the final event I photographed before heading into motherhood. The women there embraced me like family, sharing in my excitement and making me feel like I was part of the celebration—not just behind the camera. It’s a day I’ll never forget.

The design of the shower was effortlessly elegant. Amanda chose soft, wildflower-inspired arrangements in shades of pink, yellow, and white to adorn each table. A cream-toned ripple backdrop paired with neutral balloons and a coordinating plinth created a refined focal point for photos. Every detail, from the decor to the beautifully styled cake, complemented the theme perfectly.

As the afternoon unfolded, guests shared heartfelt speeches, played fun games, and filled the space with genuine joy. These are the moments that make event photography so powerful—the candid laughter, the emotional embraces, and the connections that bring people together.

Having worked at Funghetto Trattoria for several events, I can confidently say it’s a perfect venue for intimate gatherings. With its natural light and thoughtfully designed layout, it offers an ideal setting for capturing timeless, meaningful memories.
