STUNNING TORONTO LAKESHORE MATERNITY PHOTOGRAPHY

Laura’s stunning summer maternity session was photographed at one of my favorite lakeshore locations, Colonel Samuel Smith Park in Etobicoke. This spot is always a go-to for me because it offers a wonderful mix of scenery. From the small marina to the winding paths lined with mature trees and lush greenery, there are countless natural backdrops to choose from. The park also provides wide lakefront areas where you can capture beautiful shots without other visitors in the frame. On clear days, there is even a charming view of the city skyline, including the CN Tower, which adds an urban touch to the natural surroundings. Another practical advantage is the ample parking, which makes the day stress-free and easy to plan around.

Laura was about 32 weeks pregnant during this late June session and was simply glowing. We had to reschedule a few times due to unpredictable weather, but this date turned out to be absolutely perfect. The temperatures were warm, the sun cast soft, flattering light, and Laura felt comfortable and relaxed throughout the session. One of my favorite parts of this shoot was when she stepped into the calm lake for a few ethereal water shots. Her flowing dress and the gentle ripples of the water created such a serene and organic feel.

What I love about sessions at Colonel Samuel Smith Park is how natural and effortless they feel. From quiet, intimate portraits to playful, scenic shots by the water, every image highlights the beauty of the moment. Laura’s session was a true joy to photograph, and it reminded me why I love capturing maternity in spaces that feel both personal and expansive. I would be thrilled to photograph more sessions here in the future.
