WELCOMING BABY GIRL: AN AT-HOME NEWBORN SESSION

There is something truly heartwarming about returning to a family to capture the next chapter of their story, and this session was the perfect reminder of why I love what I do. I first met this wonderful couple during their maternity session, when they were eagerly awaiting the arrival of their baby girl. To be invited back into their lives to photograph their newborn session felt like such an honor, and it was so special to see their anticipation transform into pure joy as they welcomed their very first baby.

At-home newborn sessions are always some of my favorites because they hold such an intimate and personal quality. There is something unique about documenting a family in the comfort of their own space, surrounded by the details and atmosphere that make their home truly theirs. From the cozy corners of the living room to the tender moments in the bedroom, every frame reflected the warmth, love, and newness of this special season of life.

Their baby girl was calm and angelic, dressed in soft knits and neutral tones that allowed her delicate features to shine. The way her tiny hands curled into her parents’ fingers, or how she peacefully rested in their arms, was pure magic. Her parents radiated love and tenderness, sharing quiet smiles and gentle embraces as they embraced their new roles. I especially loved capturing those subtle yet powerful moments that often go unnoticed, like the sparkle in their eyes as they looked at her or the way they instinctively swayed while holding her close.

Photographing both their maternity and newborn sessions allowed me to tell a complete and heartfelt story. From the anticipation of expecting to the beauty of arrival, these images now stand as a visual narrative of their journey into parenthood. Leaving this session, my heart felt full knowing that these fleeting early days have been preserved for them to treasure forever.
