FAMILY PHOTO SESSION AT R.C. HARRIS PLANT
One of the best parts of my work is building lasting relationships with families, and this session was such a beautiful example of that. This family has trusted me year after year to capture their memories, and every time we come together, it feels less like a photography session and more like reuniting with old friends. Watching families grow and change while still carrying the same love and joy through every season is truly one of the most rewarding experiences as a photographer.
For this year’s session, we met at the R C Harris Water Treatment Plant in Scarborough. This location is one of my favourites for family portraits because it offers such a unique blend of natural beauty and striking design. The stunning architecture, stone details, and sweeping views of Lake Ontario create a timeless backdrop. Combined with soft natural light and wide open spaces, it is the perfect setting for families to relax, connect, and simply enjoy being together while I document those authentic moments.
What made this shoot especially meaningful is that it included the whole family. Parents, kids, siblings, and grandparents all came together to create a complete picture of their story. Photographing multiple generations at once adds so much depth. It is not just about capturing portraits but about preserving the legacy of love, laughter, and togetherness that binds them. From big group shots filled with smiles to quiet moments between siblings or tender interactions between parents and their grown children, every frame reflected the beauty of their bond.
This family also knows how to have fun in front of the camera, which makes my job such a joy. Their energy, playfulness, and warmth brought so much life to the images. Returning to photograph them year after year has given me the privilege of witnessing their story unfold in such a special way.
Sessions like this remind me exactly why I love what I do. It is about so much more than milestones. It is about capturing the everyday beauty of connection, the joy of being together, and the fleeting moments that become lasting memories. I am already looking forward to the next time we gather to create more stories they will treasure for years to come.
