CAPTURING THE GLOW: A PICTURE-PERFECT BUMP SESSION

Capturing the anticipation and joy of expecting a first baby is always such a special experience, and this maternity session was no exception. This beautiful couple is expecting their first baby, a little boy, and we chose Mint Room Studios as the perfect location to create intimate, timeless portraits. The studio offers versatile spaces, and for this session we utilized both the White Loft and the Kitchen, each with its own distinct atmosphere and style.

The session began in the White Loft, a bright, airy space that allowed us to create elegant, minimalist portraits. The parents chose a coordinated black and white outfit, which worked beautifully against the clean lines and neutral tones of the loft. The soft light, high ceilings, and uncluttered backdrop created a serene environment where we could focus on capturing the couple’s connection, their anticipation, and the quiet joy of expecting their first child.

After exploring the White Loft, we moved into the Kitchen space for a slightly more relaxed, casual vibe. The parents changed into blue jeans and a grey Calvin Klein top, which complemented the soft creams and browns of the kitchen. This space allowed for cozy, playful interactions, including tender moments between the couple and gentle touches that highlighted their excitement for their baby boy. The intimate setting made it easy to capture natural, authentic expressions and the special bond they share.

One of my favorite parts of this session was how personal and heartfelt it felt. Each image tells a story of connection, anticipation, and love as the couple prepares to welcome their first child. Sessions like this remind me why I love maternity photography so much. It is about preserving a unique moment in time, capturing not only the beauty of pregnancy but also the emotion, intimacy, and joy that come with expecting a baby.
