SOFIA GRACE’S BAPTISM - PZA RESTAURANT + BAR

Sofia Grace was an absolute angel for her baptism, and it was such a joy to capture this special day. From the moment I arrived, I focused on documenting all of her little details. Her thoughtful mama had everything beautifully laid out, which made it easy to begin with wide shots of the room before moving in closer to capture smaller vignettes of all her pretty things. I always make a point to photograph anything monogrammed, and I love to create a solo outfit shot whenever possible. These images become such treasured keepsakes, preserving the details that make the day unique.

Once the details were photographed, it was time for the family to gather in the bedroom to get Sofia dressed. Sometimes parents will dress the baby, and other times the godparents will take the lead. It really depends on the baby’s temperament and what feels most comfortable for everyone. After she was dressed, I captured some solo portraits of Sofia, followed by portraits with her parents and godparents. These quiet, intimate moments before the ceremony are always among my favorites. If gifts are part of the day, I also love to photograph those exchanges, especially when jewelry is involved. The candid images of parents or godparents gently placing a bracelet or necklace on the baby are always so heartfelt.

Family portraits often take place either at home or following the mass at church, depending on the family’s preference. And of course, no celebration is complete without reception coverage. This particular reception was one of my all-time favorites. The natural light was incredible, the cake and balloon backdrop were over the top, and every table detail was simply beautiful. From a photographer’s perspective, I would highly recommend this venue. While it is a bit smaller inside, it is perfectly suited for an intimate gathering, which only adds to the warmth of the celebration. I absolutely loved photographing this baptism and feel so grateful to have documented such a meaningful day.
